Every year the lab focuses on a different challenge, and this year the chosen one is Cohesion.
But what does that actually mean?
Cohesion is the social “glue” that holds a group together. It’s the sense of belonging, safety, trust, and shared identity that allows individuals to feel part of something bigger than themselves. In schools, cohesion affects everything: friendships, wellbeing, learning, classroom dynamics, and how students cope with socially intense moments throughout the year.
The Double Diamond
In class, we learned that throughout the year we’ll follow the Double Diamond design framework — a structured way to explore problems deeply and slowly narrow down toward meaningful, testable solutions.

This approach will help us avoid jumping straight into solutions before truly understanding the real needs beneath the surface.
Week 2: Forming Our Team
During the second week, we heard more about the challenge from Omri, the program manager at the 8200 Alumni Association.
We also discovered who we’ll be working with for the rest of the year. We are Team 4: Noam, Miryam, Lia, and Ori.
We sat together for the first time, mapped possible problems within the world of cohesion, and ended the session by sharing something more personal — how each of us experiences our own place within group's dynamic.
We’re excited to get to know each other better, challenge each other, and build something we’re truly proud of.
Can’t wait to continue this journey together!
